Location: Delph, Oldham (OL3)

Salary: £34,529 per annum

Sleep-ins: £78.30 per sleep-in (typically up to 4 per month)

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Home Manager with the overall leadership, organisation, and development of the residential home.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Home Manager to ensure the smooth running of the service
  • Supervising and mentoring Senior Support Workers and care staff
  • Ensuring children receive the highest standard of care and support
  • Assisting with reports, compliance and operational management
  • Taking responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager
  • Promoting an individualised approach to care for both residents and staff
  • Monitoring staff performance and identifying training and development needs
  • Maintaining a warm, homely environment for young people
  • Building strong and meaningful relationships with residents and staff
  • Supporting and participating in activities and outings
  • Maintaining accurate electronic care records using digital care systems

Experience with electronic care systems such as Clearcare is advantageous, though full training will be provided.

About the Home

The home provides care for up to four young people aged 8–18 of mixed genders.

Young people living in the home may have a range of:

  • Emotional and behavioural needs
  • Social and learning difficulties
  • Past experiences of vulnerability

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people and can lead by example.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within a children’s residential setting
  • Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People / Residential Childcare / Health & Social Care
  • Experience supervising or leading support staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs
  • Full UK manual driving licence
